Kayak from island to island along the Alaskan or Maine coast, pitch a tent, sleep out and continue on the next day. Learn to fly fish with a master, double check your harness and climb to the top of a rock wall where you can enjoy the panorama below. Sail or snorkel in the southern seas, or if you like, hike to the top of Mount Washington and look at the world from above. The windlerness adventures will introduce you to the freedom of living outdoors and enjoying the freshness of Mother Nature.
Choose the wilderness adventure program that introduces you to the activities you want to try: rock climbing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, backpacking...the list is long so choose carefully. Learn to be self-reliant in the woods and get comfortable engaging with people from another country and culture. By the end of your program you'll be comfortable setting up tents in the dark, preparing delicious meals in outdoor kitchens, reading maps, traveling lightly in the wilderness, navigating your way safely back to home base and striking up conversations with the people you meet along the way.
